Here's To You Love

My children will die of shock when they see that their Mother has actually written something as I have been very resistant to this "blogging" thing. So, here goes....

When I step back and look at my life, I have been very blessed. I was always raised to believe that "when life give you lemons, make lemonade". However, on the whole, I really have not been given too many lemons. I am married to my soul mate - we didn't find each other when we were young, but have been able to spend nine - almost ten - great years with one another. He loves me unconditionally and has embraced all of the changes that I brought to his bachelorhood with great aplomb. There aren't many guys out there that would willingly take on the responsibility of a wife and four daughters, but thankfully my soul mate did.

Recently, while reading someone else’s blog, I was reminded about how our Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. Finding my soul mate was just such an answer. A week before I met him on a blind date (we lived 700 miles apart), I decided that I was ready to take the chance of opening my heart to someone. I didn't want just a warm body - but someone who could speak to my soul; someone who shared the same interests as I did. Fortunately, not only was I given all of that, but someone who has the patience of Job (you need that when you have four daughters), as well as someone who makes up for all of my shortcomings (like sitting with children as they are puking their guts out - I really don't like yucky body fluids!!).

It is because of him, I have this dang blog – so here’s to you Love. I hereby dedicate this blog to you because in just a few short weeks it will be ten years ago that our journey to finding one another actually began…….

It's a start..

Who knew. Ten years ago, my wonderful husband thought that email was "Impersonal". Now we both have blogs. Times change...
